This automatic watch, from Invicta's Pro Diver series, places a large round stainless steel case on a robust triple link steel bracelet. The black dial is designed for quick and easy read-off, even in low light conditions. It offers three-hand function with Tritnite-coated luminous hands and hour markers and a magnified date display at the three o'clock mark. The dial is capped with a resilient mineral crystal and framed by a black unidirectional rotating steel bezel with coin edge detailing. This watch is driven by Japanese automatic movement, which is visible through the see-through skeleton caseback. It is rated water resistant to a full 660 feet (200 meters).

Automatic Watches

Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.

Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).

Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this process should not require a lot of effort or force.

Best Bang for the Buck
This Invicta watch is an excellent purchase. I almost went for the swiss movement 9937 model, but decided to try out the 8926c first, and have absoloutely no regrets.

The watch construction is top notch, the presicion so far is very good, runs fast by about 2 seconds per day, and it looks great with any clothes.

What I really like is the Invicta brand is clearly seen, meaning I'm not trying to look like I have a Rolex, its an INVICTA and it says so, and I'm not trying to hide anything.

The only part of the watch I find flimsy is the band clasp, very thin metal, and would have preferred the solid interlocking clasp of the 9937, but it's not interchangeable, and I can't complaign for the price.

Looking for a good, low priced, automatic watch with class, then this is your watch ....


The truth. .
I own several Invicta watches. All good experiences. I see most of Invicta reviews are positive exept for slow customer service. The negative reviews seem more like a defense of high priced watches. A rolex is worth thousands because it's a rolex. . thats it . . . A picaso original painting is worth thousands because it's a picaso. If i buy a painting for 0 i am not going to compare the quality of the paint that would be ridiculous. Because of today's technology it's ridiculous to compare the way a watch ticks. And quality control? It's could be an issue for even a patek. . . Get it?

Invicta hater & high end watch owner
I told myself I'd never buy an Invicta because of all the horror stories I hear about. But since I was in the market for a lower priced Submariner look alike that I can beat around I decided on the Invicta. I own several high end swiss watches that run on ETA & in house movements. I still have no problem with a good japanese movement however, as long as it tells time Im happy.

I received my watch in great time from amazon and was very happy with its initial impression. I sized it up and set the time. Thats where I found a problem. The threading on the screw down crown was stripped. It wont screw back down at all. This does happen to even the best of watches but it takes time and wear for it to cause the crown to need replacement. I can't really complain though because 1. its a sub 0 watch and 2. amazon is replacing it so I have no worries.

The bezel feels pretty good. Not as smooth as a seiko but still not bad. It ratches pretty loud when you turn it so they may turn some people off to it. Its really only a matter of preference and doesnt necessarily mean its bad quality. Just the design. It's also a 120 click revolution bezel which is great. Most are 60 clicks per each full turn while this is 120 and gives you a little more precision in measuring time. For those that dont understand what I mean, when you turn the bezel it works like a socket wrench. The bezel on this watch clicks into place 10 times for each 5 minute increment on the dial for a total of 120 clicks around.

The bracelet is ok. Not bad and not great. But its exactly what I expected. I may switch my replacement onto a NATO strap but only because I prefer NATO not because this bracelet is bad. All of the parts seem to be good quality except the crown threading and hollow end links. These are easily replaceable though with the exception of the crown. Mainly here for the watch enthusiast this watch is nothing great, but not bad. For a normal person just looking for a good watch that they can wear casually this will be fine. Once you have the luxury of owning a high end swiss watch you may find yourself buying more and not accepting anything less. This is exactly my problem. Swiss vs japanese are almost like Name brand drugs vs Generic. They both do the same thing and some even are the exact same quality. Its all preference on the buyers part. Personally I bought this watch to beat around and not worry about feeling bad that I just scratched a thousand dollar watch. I got exactly what I wanted and cant ask for more (once the replacement comes that is) from a watch at this price.
